Meg Jorgenson is a painter based in Los Angeles. She is known for her meditative works that explore the congruence between natural figuration and poetic abstraction. Her studied experimentation in creating pigments from foraged natural elements creates a sense of refraction with color and texture. Drawing inspiration from ancient parietal painters who used clay-derived paints to communicate as well as the pioneering female artists of spiritualism, Jorgenson utilizes art as a medium to delve into ephemeral moments of the soul. An interplay between the tangible and the subconscious, her work invites the viewer into a transcendental landscape that evolves with the beauty of attention.

My name is Jimena, I'm an oil painter based in Los Angeles, California.
My artistic journey began in Spain, where I studied Fine Art and immersed myself in various workshops, trying to absorb as much as I could from the masters. This summer, I had the pleasure of teaching a workshop in Italy, sharing my passion for painting with others.
My work blends realism with a dreamlike with a bit of an impressionistic touch— drawing inspiration from nature, folklore, films, poems, and everyday life, I use loose brushstrokes to let light and movement flow freely across the canvas, creating a fantasy-like quality in everyday subjects while maintaining a realistic foundation.

Shizuka Kusayanagi is a painter, graphic designer, educator, and secret comedian, born in Japan and having spent half of her life in the US, raising half-French kids. She is a mutt of many things and a curious introvert-extrovert.

Shizuka developed Art for All Ages workshops with the purpose of inspiring adults and children alike to intentionally use art-making as a way to develop one’s own voice, broaden perspectives, and foster healthy relationships with oneself and others. Each session is specifically designed to assist the child inside us who wants to play, where the creation process is highly appreciated and experimentation is strongly encouraged.

Rebecca Holopter is a multi-hyphenate artist who focuses on ease, joy, and nostalgia. Jealous of her brother's ninja turtle drawings, Rebecca's aunt set her down at a young age and said "it's just practice." With this sentiment, Rebecca continued to practice and study art throughout college. In 2015 she drew and animal a day (maintaining the practice while drinking wine in Italy!) and in 2016 she extended the practice with a watercolor painting a day. Since then she has continued with watercolor adding in other art mediums such as embroidery, acrylic, and pastels to explore skin tones and textures in colorful portraits and the freedom in excessive abstracts. She has taught in different mediums for the past 6 years and encourages her students with the same sentiment that was instilled in her - it's all just practice.

Over The Rainbow: A Pride Painting Series

with Jordan Mae Jimenez

$220 for 4 weeks \\ $65 for Drop In \\ Email us if you need more accessible pricing,

June 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

You’re queer? You’re here. In this painting series, we are taking the rainbow back from corporations with your own artistic celebration of what pride looks like to you. Taught by your favorite lesbian art teacher and open to all!

So, here’s the gay agenda:

Week One is an Andy Warhol inspired painting with print making. Imagine your favorite gay icon, actor, artist, plant, critter, or something even gayer in the style of the legend of pop art.

Up next, we’ll tackle Van Gogh’s Starry Night but make it gay of course. Using the colors of the rainbow or the pride flag you identify with, you’ll create you own beautiful galaxies full of texture and life inspired by the post-impressionist artist.

Gays love nature, so Week Three we will paint flowers inspired by the floral work of modernist artist Georgia O’Keefe. Did you know about her and Frida Kahlo? Historians will say they were really good friends.

Lastly, everyone body say love! We’ll take it all home with a ‘What Pride Means To You’ self portrait. This one is inspired by you, the queer artists of our generation.

A queer space is an inclusive space, allies are more than welcome. Everyone will leave with four unique works of art from four individual art movements. What are you waiting for?

June 16th:Van Gogh’s Starry Night

June 23rd: Georgia O’Keefe and her Flowers

June 30th: Self Portraits
