Gouache Still Life Painting
with Katie Sunderalingam
$65
A gently guided still life painting workshop, using Gouache paint. Gouache can be used just like watercolors, or applied in a thicker, more velvety opaque manner, making your results full of depth and possibilities! We will use plants and flowers as our subjects, initially studying ways to get over the fear of the blank sheet of paper and then delve into a few different brush techniques, how to use your artist's license and quiet the inner critic's attempts during the process!
All materials are provided in the workshop. Feel free to BYOB!

Born and raised just outside of London to a Sri Lankan father and British mother, Katie is a multidisciplinary artist, creating large and small scale public art and licensable art for stationery, greeting cards and home decor. She also works as an art director in film and commercial production. After studying set design for theatre in Liverpool, a strong sense of spacial narrative, whimsical dimension and colorful environments were instilled in her work. Katie is always excited to bring her unique eye and design sensibility to new projects and collaborations. She adores painting with others and guiding the process as a peaceful, meditative practice.
